Thank you to everyone who assisted the Parish Nurse program this year, your contributions to Birthright during the year with blankets and other baby needs was appreciated. This program will continue during the coming year. There is a basket on the Parish Nurse table for collection of any baby items you wish to contribute. Although we will not be collecting specific items for the Fields of Abundance Mission because of the cost of transporting school supplies by air, we will still be taking monetary contributions. Again there will be a container on the Parish Nurse table for donations. Thank you to everyone who assisted with the Relay for Life, the Expo, and the Angel Tree with your contributions of time and energy. With your help we can continue a successful program this coming year. Thank you, Gwen Evans, Parish Nurse
Fields of Abundance Mission
Update: Due to the increased cost of transporting supplies, the Fields of Abundance Mission has requested that only monetary donations be made. There is a container on the Parish Nurse table for anyone wishing to contribute money for the mission. This money will be used to buy school supplies in Nicaragua. Thank you for any continued support.
Attention Knitters! We will be making “Comfort Dolls” for the World Mission of the Moravian Church. These dolls are used in their work with children left orphaned by Aids. Lisa Mixon, director of People in Mission, spoke to our church school group and mentioned the need for these “Comfort Dolls.” There will be directions for two types of doll. You can decide which one you want to make. Directions and yarn can be obtained from the Parish Nurse table in the Gathering Room. When the doll is completed, it can be returned to the table and I will see that it gets to Lisa Mixon. If you need knitting needles or any other material please contact me. These dolls are small and easy to make, but mean so much to the children who receive them. Please find time to help. Thank You. Parish Nurse, Gwen Evans.
REMINDER: We are continuing to collect and contribute baby clothing and articles to Birthright. There is a basket on the Parish Nurse Table to place your contributions. There are also materials available to make “t” sweaters. The response to these articles has been reduced. This is just a reminder this project is still part of our community service. Thank you for your time and help.
